New Business Cards

It is time to make some new business cards. I have now updated by work and now using a cargo collective account to showcase my work. so i want to redesign and reprint a new set of cards.

PPD Loose Clothing

The loose clothing project was more like running a business there were a lot of things we had to do to manage loose like a company. so i felt this was ppd worthy as i learnt a lot about running a small business with things such and time management handeling money and recording spending and profits, creating a limited company and promotion of products.

Canada Plans

Been thinking more about Canada and i plan to go to Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal which are 3 large cities relatively close to one another on the East side of Canada. I want to get in contact with as many studios as possible while out there.
New York is also really close to toronto so it would be good to make a trip out there and also vancouver which is on the other side of Canada about 40 hours drive from Toronto.

Cargo Account

Finally finished the cargo account to showcase my work in a more proffecional way. It took me a while to get all the images the same size but i am really happy with the results.

LinkedIn

After talking to John i sorted myself out with a linkedin account. i think it is a great place to contact people you have met or worked with. I really like the endorsing skills section as it is one thing saying you have skill but having people approve you have these skills is a great tool

XCVB

I contacted XCVB in regards of printers and suppliers for Loose clothing and they got back to me with some really helpful contacts.

On The Wall

Contacted On the Wall in regards of printing clothing and where to buy bulk t-shirts.

Vapour Clothing

Shared a few emails with Vapour clothing although could not hook me up with any contacts they were very polite and gav me some nice advice.

BCN : MCR

Although we wanted to get tickets for the talks i think i sold out within half an hour of been released. So we just went down to go visit the exhibition instead. It was alright there was some really nice work there and i enjoyed a day out in a different city other than leeds for once.  

Messaging Music

I messaged Craig from music. Me and Chris were traveling to Manchester next week for the BCN : MCR exhibition so i thought it would be useful to go see a studio while we were out there! I did get a reply but to late to catch us while we were in manchester.

Contact with Johnny Watters

I asked John if he new anyone in advertising to help me out with my dissertation research. He put me into contact with his son Johnny. so i sent him my dissertation questionnaire. He really enjoyed my questions about hyperreality as i think it was something we all experience but maybe not aware of until we are told about.

Johnny filled out the questionnaire in a really interesting way he filled it out as more of a conversation and i found it very entertaining to read. I am very appreciative of the time he took to fill it out.

Work from Last term Project

Was in contact with someone from Canada who saw my work for Prolifera-Tech from last term. they are look for some 3D modeling of the stuffed toys and after more contact they are look for someone to do the branding and also packaging design for the whole range. Think i might take this one when i go over in the summer as it is a big and payed project and not sure if i have enough time to do this over FMP.

Contacted Art's

I sent them my work i did chowing them the packaging range i produced as one of my projects last term.

I didn't get any feedback but it was a good experience and learning curve anyway.

Contacted 2 Canadian Studios

Canada??????

Might be thinking about going to Canada when i finish uni. i am going out there anyway hopefully but this might be a good opportunity to go out and live there and see if i could get any work.

I will start looking at some studios to contact out there in preparation and see if i can make any contacts.

Berg Studios

I have received my first reply from the email i have sent out. It was from Berg studios which is probably the biggest one i made contact with. I thought these wouldn't have the time to answer my questions but they are really helpful and polite about what i could do to improve. really happy with this and i will try and keep in contact.
